I study short-duration gamma-ray bursts and their progenitors. In particular, I use space- and ground-based observations of both the galaxies which host these events, as well as their multi-wavelength afterglows, to uncover information about the underlying progenitor population. In addition, I lead our short GRB target-of-opportunity effort, which entails dropping whatever I may be doing if a short GRB is detected by the Swift satellite, which leads to quite an exciting life! When I'm not working, I enjoy reading classic novels, experimenting in the kitchen, and traveling.
